The earth pulsation is a kind of geophysical information with rich connotation. It is excited by random vibration sources (including natural factors, such as earthquake, wind vibration, volcanic activity, ocean wave, etc.; human factors, such as traffic, power machine, engineering construction, etc.) and propagated to the ground after multiple reflection and refraction by different rock and soil interfaces of the site. It is a stable and non repetitive random fluctuation of the ground.

At the same time, the different frequency amplitude and action duration of ground pulse will cause different response of rock and soil. Because of the excellent characteristics of the earth pulsation, scholars all over the world have studied it in many aspects.
